Stubbinwood School

Planned activities are adapted to the child’s age. Planning for these activities is derived from both ‘birth to three matters’ and the ‘foundation stage early learning goals’. This ensures continuity for your child as they move through to nursery. Plans are displayed for parents to look at. All plans can be changed or adapted so if you or your child has any ideas we would love to hear them.

Some activities we do include:

  • Painting and craft
  • Baking
  • Play dough
  • Dancing
  • Outdoor play
  • Sensory play
  • Soft play
  • Music and singing
  • Books and stories

As the childcare centre is in the same block as Stubbin Wood nursery we work together. The nursery has an excellent team of qualified teachers and nursery nurses who are very friendly, caring and knowledgeable.

Children who are 3 or above will spend their free 2½ hour session in the nursery then if you want any additional care sessions after or before that, these are available with us in the childcare centre.

Everyone needs to eat healthy especially small children who are still growing. We provide children with snacks and meals that are as healthy and tasty as possible. The types of food we provide are:

8.00-9.00 - Cereal or toast

10.30 – Snack which will be fresh fruit, vegetable sticks or dried fruit with milk, water or juice.

12.00 – Healthy cooked meal and pudding with a drink

14.30 – Snack similar to above snack

16.00 – Light meal such as sandwiches or beans on toast then a pudding and a drink.

Children can have access to drinks any time of the day. If your child has a special diet then just inform the staff and we will provide appropriate meals for them.
